Fleet Management System and Software from ACG
Access
Control Group introduced VigilantG2; the next generation
Lift Truck Management System. According to OSHA 1910.178, each operator must
go through a safety checklist. Manual implementation of
lift truck pre-shift safety checklist is daunting since
a record is required for each operator and each lift truck.
With manual checklist there could be thousands of paper
checklists that must be maintained and presented in the
event of OSHA inspection. In busy manufacturing or distribution
plant, supervisors often are busy ensuring operation runs
smoothly. However OSHA compliance is as important.
ACG, an innovative provider of vehicle monitoring systems
and software studied distribution and manufacturing
operations. Based on inputs received from end users,
dealers and OEM, ACG designed VigilantG2; a complete
industrial equipment monitoring System to comply with
OSHA 1910.178 requirement.
Here’s how VigilantG2 helps companies comply
with OSHA 1910.178:
A supervisor or mechanic creates a checklist using ACG’s
web based software Assetor. Checklist is then uploaded
to lift trucks via wireless link. Prior to using a lift
truck an operator must Log ON with his/her PIN or ID
card. Upon successful Log ON, VigilantG2 will ask user
pre-shift safety related questions. The safety or maintenance
personnel can configure these questions. After operator
responds to every question in checklist, VigilantG2
allows access to the lift truck.
if
equipment is defective, it can be placed in maintenance
mode and an email can be sent to appropriate personnel
to minimize downtime. Operator’s response to
the checklist is recorded in VigilantG2's non-volatile
memory and down loaded to the server where Assetor
resides. Downloaded reports can be viewed from any
computer over intranet or internet with access privilege
on OSHA checklist by Date, Operator or Vehicle.
Please refer to the attached checklist report. A
simple yet cost effective solution to a complex
problem.
In
addition to pre-shift safety checklist, companies also
need to monitor abusive operators to minimize damage
to facility, merchandize and physical injuries. VigilantG2
offers the following valuable features:
Keyless
Entry System
The system prevents unauthorized personnel from operating
dangerous equipment. Authorized operators’ usage
is recorded and transferred to a web server (within
or outside company as required). In most cases employee
ID cards can be used to gain access to equipment. Avoid
hassles of mechanical key management.
PM Scheduling Alerts
PM Reminder can be programmed as required. When equipment
reaches programmed limit, an alert and email can be
sent on equipment and on PC. Supervisors can schedule
maintenance on time.
G Watch, Impact Recorder
G Watch records impact on X and Y axis which can reveal
abusive usage pattern and helps reduce property damage
and personnel injuries. Abusive operators can be identified
since each Impact alarm is time and date stamped along
with equipment ID and Dept. Proper implementation of
G Watch can also help reduce insurance and worker compensation
costs.
